Making art is not always a line from blank beginning to full, finished end. Sometimes it backtracks for an even more interesting end result as in the process of creating deconstructed paintings from new or existing works of art.
Join me in my studio as I take you, step by step, through the process of creating a collection of deconstructed paintings from large to smaller works. We’ll start with raw materials that we’ll mingle to mature and luminous layered pieces surfaced with a rule-bending approach to encaustic finishing. Are there a lot of materials and are they expensive?
No!! I’m ALL about using what you have on hand and buying frugally. My favorite art is that which is a perfect balance between high quality mediums and easily sourced materials and I have trimmed the supply list down to the essentials in service of that aim. You can even wait until you’ve watched all the instructional videos to purchase a single supply in case that helps you know exactly what materials to get and what you want to wait to acquire.
