Deconstructed Painting Process Course

$77.00

Making art is not always a line from blank beginning to full, finished end. Sometimes it backtracks for an even more interesting end result as in the process of creating deconstructed paintings from new or existing works of art.

Join me in my studio as I take you, step by step, through the process of creating a collection of deconstructed paintings from large to smaller works. We’ll start with raw materials that we’ll mingle to mature and luminous layered pieces surfaced with a rule-bending approach to encaustic finishing. (Click through the images to the left to see examples of pieces and the process. You’ll, of course, make your own kind of magic with whatever colors and imagery resonate with you.)

The course is an instant download ebook and is primarily video content – approximately 4 hours – with companion (printable) supply + materials guides, tools and other relevant resources.

FAQ’s:

How long will I have access to the course?
Because the course is a downloadable ebook, you’ll have access to the course for forever. If you ever loose the ebook (computer crashes happen, dang it!) just email me and I’ll send it to you again.

Are there a lot of materials and are they expensive?
No!! I’m ALL about using what you have on hand and buying frugally. My favorite art is that which is a perfect balance between high quality mediums and easily sourced materials and I have trimmed the supply list down to the essentials in service of that aim. You can even wait until you’ve watched all the instructional videos to purchase a single supply in case that helps you know exactly what materials to get and what you want to wait to acquire.

Happy (US) Thanksgiving! This is us today - hunkered down in one of our favorite places on earth: Jedediah Smith State Park. These redwoods have given us respite when we were new parents decades ago and needed to break up the daily routine of wiping
While I’m painting the new drawer faces for the kitchen, vacuuming the studio, and cleaning my “new” vintage cabinet to fill with miscellaneous studio supplies, I’m also thinking about how good it feels to be focused on what I Autumn has fully taken hold of our valley. When I drive to town, I look more at the canopies of brilliant red and orange than at the road, I’m afraid.

We’ve had some days of warm sun and I’ve been using the non-rain days to get so
